🏛 Establishment
- Formation: The Uzhavoor Development Block came into existence in 1954, with Kozha as its headquartersBlock Panchayat
- Location: The Block Panchayat is situated in Meenichil Taluk and covers an area of approximately 221 square kilometres.
- Jurisdiction: The Block Panchayat includes the Grama Panchayats of Uzhavoor, Veliyanoor,Ramapuram,Kuravilangad,Marangattupilly,Kadaplamattom,Kanakkary and Manjoor
👥 Elected Body
- The Block Panchayat consists of 14 elected wards (divisions).
- The President and Vice President are elected from among the 14 elected members by majority vote.
- Reservation is provided for Women and Scheduled Castes (SC) / Scheduled Tribes (ST) in accordance with the provisions of the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act.

- Block Development Officer (BDO): The BDO serves as the Secretary of the Block Panchayat and functions as its Chief Executive Officer.
- Other Officials: Officers from departments such as Agriculture, Agricultural Development, Social Welfare and other line departments assist in planning, implementing and monitoring various development programmes at the block level.
